I believe wholeheartedly that books are meant to be read.
Then reread.
And probably again after that.
Being one of those crazy people who has to reread the entire series from the beginning when a new book is released.. Has a tendency to complicate things. More so when a series has quite a few books in it. The struggle is real, my friends.

A childhood favorite that you could read 100 times and still love:

Oh, goodness, this is such a sweet and nostalgic series. I absolutely(still) love this book and I highly recommend it for anyone who hasn’t already experienced the beautifully captivating story of a young girl who makes her own kind of magic in an uncaring and joyless new world.

You know, I keep wanting this relationship to work out but.. every single time, something keeps holding me back. Maybe we’re not be meant to be.

Anyone else have a problem getting into this one? I feel like I’m held back by my own preconceived notions. Should anyone hate what they are so much that they’re willing to become something they despise in order to appear ‘strong’ enough that no one can hurt them again?
That’s just not my style. Kick. Scream. Rage.

I’m still not sure I absorbed everything in here and since I probably didn’t retain all of it either.. I’ll have to reread it just to figure out what the heck is going on in the next book.
I did really enjoy reading this though. It’s dark, it’s complicated, and the main character is a tough-as-nails walking magnet for trouble. I’d definitely reread it.

Yea, no, I managed to choke my way through the angst ridden drama the first time because.. The story line, world building, even the depth to Clare’s characters is all done wonderfully. I’m a huge fan of her ‘Infernal Devices’ series and I look forward to reading some of her other work but this?
The characters have ruined it for me.
A classic you read in school but want to try again

Now this takes me back. Anyone out there who remembers this one? I came across it the other day by pure chance and couldn’t believe it.
I really can’t say much about this book without potentially spoiling some of the best parts, it has been quite some time since I read it last, which can only mean.. it’s about time I reread it.
I do, however, recommend reading this book at least once(if you haven’t already).
An author you would reread anything from
Author of some of my favorite series of supernatural fantasy. Almost all of her books feature strong and intelligent women as the lead character(which I absolutely love) with world building that is out of this world.
Knocks it out of the park with her determined and resilient characters and incredibly artistic settings. Strong young women against the world, Gods, and monsters. Aided by a fantastic array of loyal allies, magical gifts, and epic adventures.
Her writing is inspired. Truly. This author has some of the most beautiful writing, creative storylines, and deeply interesting characters that I’ve had the pleasure of falling for. And, while I haven’t yet worked my way through everything she’s written, I have enjoyed what I have read immensely.
A series you want to reread for the fun of it

That’s a complicated question. There are so many!
Let’s go with this one.. I love rereading Karen Chance‘s ‘Cassandra Palmer‘ series. It’s fun, action-packed, supernatural chaos. The characters are fantastic and the author brilliantly weaves between times and places like a boss.
You’re really going to enjoy this series if:
1. You like an entirely unique spin on the supernatural races.
2. You enjoy kick-butt, intelligent, and hilarious female protagonists.
3. Pure-magical-wonderful chaos.
A book you’ve read but want to listen to the audiobook
I have never listened to a single audiobook.. but if I did? Maybe ‘The Hobbit’, ‘Pride and Prejudice’, ‘Alice in Wonderland’.. Classics. I can’t see doing my laundry while someone reads aloud to the latest from Stephen King.
I am moderately curious about audiobooks but I also know that the act of reading is what gets me out of my head, between the pages, and able to disconnect for a bit.
And that’s that for me!

Brilliant! I am a re-reader and it’s great to find somebody who understands the happiness of curling up with an old favourite….My childhood favourite was Jane Eyre (I have no idea how many times I’ve re-read it). I finished City of Bones and then books 2,3,and then 6, but I’m not sure about ever wanting to re-read it, because then came The Infernal Devices, which is a more likely candidate for series-binging.
Are you also a mood reader?
That’s so great! I just can’t let go of my favorite comfort reads.. And ‘The Infernal Devices’ is one I have reread, I liked the tidy way she wraps up the ending for everyone.

I almost never reread books, Sheri. I’ve tried, but they’re never the same the second time around. I haven’t read The Cruel Prince and have seen so many mixed reviews. I’m not sure I every will. But I love Bardugo. That one is definitely on my TBR list.
I can understand that.. it would probably save so much time if I didn’t reread so much. And, thank you, It’s been rough trying to get into ‘The Cruel Prince’ and I’m glad it’s not just me!
‘Ninth House’ was literally my first Bardugo book and I can’t wait to read more now.. What are you currently reading, if I may ask?
I’m reading Teagan Geneviene’s serial Dead of Winter (starting Journey 3 tonight). A couple of my favorite recent reads were Rogerson’s Sorcery of Thorns and Arden’s The Bear and the Nightingale. Just fabulous! Happy Reading. 😀

I can relate. Every once in a while I give myself a challenge to read two, buy one, read two, buy one. Then I’ll buy three interesting ones in a single hour.
I’ve cut myself off for now. Until I put a sizeable dent in my physical tbr and the virtual one.. it’s the doghouse for me.
