To a Very Happy Thanksgiving 2022!

There’s a Blessing In Every Day

Welcome, friends!

Last year I did a post listing some of the many things I was grateful for over the year and I thought I might do the same kind of thing again this year.
I know not all of us celebrate Thanksgiving but we should all be grateful, as much as we’re able, and as often as we can..
So I will start with you.

Thank you for being here.
Thank you for taking the time to read this post, for supporting me, and for being such a kind-hearted, patient, and considerate collection of people. Thank you for the books you’ve brought us that are so much more than words on pages. Thank you for the poetry that fills our hearts and minds, the art that colors our lives, and the stories you’ve shared—that let us know we’re just a little less alone.
Thank you.

I Am Grateful This Year For:

Our relatively good health, the roof over our heads, food in our stomachs, and the love that surrounds us.

Familyby blood, by marriage, the four-legged and feathered, the people we’ve collected along the wayI’m grateful for them all.

And of course, I can’t forget the new friends, blogs, and books that have come into my life.

These Debut and ‘New-to-me’ Authors:

It has been an incredible year in books for me.
So many debuts that blew my mind and new-to-me authors that have captured my book-loving heart.
Every year we are fortunate.. We get to discover new friends and worlds—love and heartbreak—we get to live new lives all over again.

These Quotes:

“We never parted without saying I love you. It was a rule. My rule. Because you could never know. You always think you’re going to see someone again, but you really, truly never know.”
The Clackity by Lora Senf

“We’re on this planet for a millisecond, a blink of an eye. Don’t accept your innate insignificance. Don’t settle for being content. Aim higher than good or simple. Make that blink count.”
Acts of Violet by Margarita Montimore

“I had been trying to fit my world into a small, safe box for so long. But life didn’t work like that. It could move in and out of the lines. You couldn’t control every, because it wasn’t all meant to be perfect. Sometimes things needed to be messy.”
My Life With the Walter Boys by Ali Novak

“Set your sights on what you genuinely want and not just what is easy.
Hold hope with both hands. be afraid. jump anyway.”

The Gravity Inside Us: Poetry and Prose by Chloe Frayne

“It was all too easy to take a thing for granted, even something beautiful, when you lived with it every day, she thought. The extraordinary faded into the ordinary, even mundane.”
The Stroke of Winter by Wendy Webb

Happy Thanksgiving to you as well, Sheri. Enjoy your day with family. I agree, we can never count our blessings enough and take time to be grateful/thankful. I am also thankful for the wonderful blogging community that I am part of. 🤗🦃💖

I’m glad you had a good day, Sheri. Mine was fun. Watched a parade, some football, a Hallmark movie and had a great turkey dinner (which I didn’t have to cook). Another great day and lots to be thankful for.

And that sounds lovely, Carla. (especially the not having to cook part) I’m glad you enjoyed yourself. 😊

Happy Thanksgiving Sheri. We don’t celebrate it here in New Zealand – we just have the sales! – but I think it is a wonderful idea. I am thankful for our local library and the wonderful librarians who work there. ❤📚

What a lovely post, Sheri. So full of appreciation of life, family, friends, and great books. I loved the quotes that you pulled from the books to share. And thanks for the mention. I feel honored and… grateful! Here’s to another year of blessings and much to be thankful for. As Montimore wrote: “Make that blink count.”

Thank you so much. I think it’s really important to remember the blessings.. the bad moments take up so much space that we forget sometimes. Happy to mention you! You and everyone here have been so amazing that ‘thanks’ doesn’t seem enough.
And Cheers. Here’s to another year.. one full of good things, healing, and happier times.
