My BeatTheBacklist Reading Challenge Progress

For every two books I read.. a dozen more replace it.

This challenge is such a fun and useful way to finally get some of your never-ending TBR books out of the way.

When I first came across the BeattheBacklist challenge @ Carla‘s blog, I loved the idea..
I had already planned to dive into some of my TBR reads this year, they really have gotten out of control, and this just sounded like a great way to motivate myself into actually doing it.
So far, so good.

The Rules:

  1. The book must be published in the previous year or earlier (for the 2022 challenge, anything published in 2021 or earlier counts)
  2. You have to start and finish the book in 2022.
  3. And that’s it!

I’ve been reading more ARCS and new releases this year than I expected so I really haven’t been able to add as many as I’d have liked to this list.. but with how much crap has been going on in life this year, all the responsibilities that have cropped up, I’m just happy to have read this much.

Thank you for stopping by!
I will continue to update my backlist/TBR reads as I go along.. hopefully adding plenty more before the year is up.
Wish me luck!

Have has you’re 2022 reading experience been so far?

I need to do this next year! I’m determined to stop taking so many ARCs so that I can read the unreal number of books that I purchase but never have time to read and maybe this will help. You’re doing great 👍

    1. Sheri Dye

I highly recommend it! I’ve fallen a bit behind because of my own ARC reads but it’s been great clearing even this many off my TBR.
Thank you! And best of luck with your own reading!

That is a lot, I hardly have anytime to spare to read anymore. 😌

Oh no.. That’s not good at all! I hope you’re able to find some time for it soon. 💕

        Hopefully I will 💞

You are doing brilliantly with your backlist, Sheri. I only manage to get 1 off my backlist each month on average. And, like you, I read two books, and add twelve new ones!🤣🤣❤📚

Thank you.. I appreciate you saying that. I really don’t feel like I’ve been able to get much reading done this year.
And no way! I feel like I see a new review from you every day.. none of those are from your backlist?
Even if we’ll never have time for all of them, books are so wonderfully easy to collect. ❤️
      Happy Reading!

Yes, some are from my backlist. I try to get books on my backlist on audio through the library service and listen to them when I am walking to work (weather permitting) and doing housework. Happy reading ❤📚

That’s a great way to do it! It didn’t even occur to me that audiobooks would count.. I guess now would be a great time to try a few. 😅
Thank you, Sandy, and happy reading to you!
