Welcome, Welcome, Welcome!
Forgive me, my friends, todays post will be rather short.
Don’t worry though.. the poem below is more than worth the read.
I happened to be perusing poetryfoundation the other night and came across the perfect piece to share with you all.
It’s not often you find fun and entertaining Halloween poetry and, honestly, I tend to prefer the dark and moody ones anyhow.. but this one just jumped right out at me. Maybe it will do the same for you.
Enjoy!
All Hallows’ Eve
Be perfect, make it otherwise.
Yesterday is torn to shreds.
Lightning’s thousand sulfur eyes
Rip apart the breathing beds.
Hear bones crack and pulverize.
Doom creeps in on rubber treads
Countless overwrought housewives,
Minds unraveling like threads,
Try lipstick shades to tranquilize
Fears of age and general dreads.
Sit tight, be perfect, swat the spies,
Don’t take the faucet for fountainheads.
Drink taste antidotes. Otherwise
You and the werewolf: newlyweds
Thanks so much for stopping in and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!
Know any great Halloween poems? I would love to read them!

Be sure to stay safe out there and have a wonderful October!
