What are your 2024 bookish plans?
Welcome!
My apologies for this but today’s a bit of a mess so I’ll be keeping things short.
I found this great book tag @ BooksAre42 a few weeks ago and meant to post it, forgot to, and now figure that.. since I’m running late today.. it kind of works. So, for your reading pleasure..

How many books are you planning to read in 2024?
The minimum reading goal this year is 50 completed books but we do have a lot of changes (and adjusting to those changes) coming our way here so I’m hoping I’ll get to read that many at least.
Name 5 books that you didn’t get to this past year but want to make a priority in 2024:
The House at the End of the World by Dean Koontz
The Nighthouse Keeper by Lora Senf
Scorpio by Marko Kloos
A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik
Dream a Little Dream by Kerstin Gier
What genre do you want to read more of?
Fantasy.
I’ve been in this ‘mystery, horror, thriller’ phase for a few years and have just started enjoying the beauty of the worlds, characters, romances, and magic systems in Fantasy again. I’m very much looking forward to diving into so many of those available now.
Name 3 not-related-to-book goals for 2024:
- Work up the courage to get my ridiculously long hair cut before it takes me out..
- Get out more. Whether we travel or explore more of the area we live in, I’d love to spend more time seeing and experiencing new people, places, and things.
- Find a house. We’re looking to move closer to family and we’ve got our fingers crossed that we’ll be able to make it happen this year.
There are many, many, many more goals for this year—so many—but I think these are taking up the most room in my head and nerves right now.
What’s a book you have had forever and are determined to read?
I would just like to note here that ‘determination’ is far easier to manage than ‘motivation.’
The Diviners by Libba Bray
The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon
Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young
One word that you’re hoping 2024 will be:
Mild? Easygoing? Merciful? Manageable?
I can not be the only one knocking on wood with crossed fingers that this year treats us all kindly and Lord willing, it will be.
And that’s all folks!
Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you found a book or two that caught your interest.

Nice goals. I hope you find some good fantasy books to read this year. There are so many great fantasy authors out there at the moment. Good Luck with finding a house. That’s such a big thing to do.
Reading Scorpio right now! I’m just a sucker for books and with dogs!
