Raising My Glass to the New Year!

It’s been a long year but we made it..
And we did it with style.

Welcome!

I first started blogging in January of 2021 as a way to get out of my own head and comfort zone.
I needed some way to express all the chaos rattling around inside my head but when my other half first suggested starting a blog.. I didn’t really know what to think.

I’ve always loved to write but I had no idea what to do with a blog. I didn’t know what to write about or even where to begin.
Fortunately, I have an amazing husband who jumped right in with me, and I was helped by a lot of amazing people on here who supported and encouraged me.

Today’s post is my greatest hits from the last year.. the books, the bloggers, and the authors who made this all such a great experience.
(Well—some of them.)

Enjoy!

Three of my favorite books this year:

Be Not That Far From Me by Mindy McGinnis
“Living things will fight to stay that way.”

The Noise by James Patterson and J. D. Barker
The sound grew louder.
Deafening.
A crescendo of screams.
As if every human, animal, and creature of Mother Earth all cried together in fevered pain.

Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire
Their love wanted to fix her, and refused to see that she wasn’t broken.

New to me Authors I really enjoyed:

T. Kingfisher

Leigh Bardugo

Lucinda Berry

Katherine Arden

Simone St. James

“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much”

Helen Keller

Bloggers I adore:
(not everyone but.. a few)

Pooja @ Lifesfinewhine

Lady Tessa @ Tessa Talks Books

Mogsy @ BiblioSanctum

Nehal Jain @ Quirky Pages

valor87 @ Jonathan Pongratz

Gem @ gemsbooknook

Sahi @ My World of Books

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”

Winston S. Churchill

It takes exactly as much time is needed to get to where you’re meant to be and, funny thing, you’re already there..
It’s strange how life works out that way but I’m grateful.

Thank you, all of you, for showing me that there is still an entire world full of good, kind, and generous people out there. This crazy community is a remarkable example of how we should all treat one another in life.. with patience, support, and an open heart. It’s been a pleasure getting to know you.

Here’s to many more new friends, experiences, and (of course) books.
May 2022 bless us all with good health and happiness!
