2022 Beat the Backlist Reading Challenge

This challenge is just what I needed.. My TBR list for last year alone is ridiculous.

Thank you for sharing this great challenge with us Carla!

I came across this on her page a few days ago and I’ve only just had the time to put something together but, I have to say, I really am excited to get started. A challenge intended to clean up all those pesky books that keep getting put off? I’m there.
Now.. Where to begin?

Originally hosted by Austine @ Austine Decker.comthis challenge is making a comeback for it’s 6th year this 2022 and is designed to help you tackle all the books you keep meaning to read and still haven’t.

This will be my first year participating but it seems like such a fun, flexible, and easy way to see to some of those books I probably should’ve already read. My goal is to reach a minimum of 50 completed books.

Wish me luck and Happy reading!

Guidelines:

  • The book must be published in the previous year or earlier (for the 2022 challenge, anything published in 2021 or earlier counts).
  • You have to start and finish the book in 2022.
  • Any format, any genre. Re-reads count, and you don’t have to own the book. It’s open for the entire year so whenever you feel like jumping in, you can!
  • And that’s it!
  • The challenge runs from January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022.

There is no right or wrong way to join, no invitation necessary, just jump in whenever you’re ready!

The only request is that if you do post somewhere online about the challenge, please give Austine a link back so more readers can learn about BTB!
You’re welcome to use either of these hashtags: #BeatTheBacklist or #BeatTheBacklist2022

I’m not sure how everyone usually keeps track of their completed reads but I’ll be posting my own around the middle of the year and again at the end of the year.

This is only the second challenge I’ve attempted.. so I’m still unsure of how exactly these posts are supposed to be done.
A lot of this is copied directly from Carla’s post (I hope you don’t mind!) though, I did tweak some of it..

Are you participating in this or any other challenges?

Thank you! It will be fun.. I’m such a mood reader that it will make things interesting.

What a great idea! I’m definitely planning to read more of the backlist books I already own. I feel so guilty looking at the books sitting unread on my bookshelves. Good luck!

Right? There are so many great challenges!
And I can relate to that.. They look all sad and lonely just sitting there. Hopefully this will help take a few off the pile.
Thank you and best of luck with your own backlist!
