Challenge Accepted: My Readathin Challenge Wrap-up

Bingo with a bookish twist!

Raise your hand if you didn’t realize February was over.. *guilty*

Time flew by this month.. so much so that I wasn’t even aware it had actually ended. Fun stuff. Not.
Well, let’s do this..

The Readathin challenge.
First seen on suzannarivera @ Bella‘s blog, and hosted by Amanda @ Manda the Bibleo and Donna @ Momsbookcollection, it looked like so much fun.. I knew I was going to have to at least try it, too.

So this post will basically just showcase the books I managed to read throughout the February Readathin challenge. I’ll mostly be using the books on my TBR from 2021 and before in an attempt at also staying within the rules for the #BeattheBacklist challenge.

Let’s get started!

Books/Links: Black/Red
Self-Care: Purple

1. You’ll Thank Me For This by Nina Siegal 4.5/5
A book with little to no romance

Make yourself a tea, coffee, or any other drink
A ‘Self-care’ prompt I took to heart.. I love chamomile tea and honey, often made on cold nights, it’s wonderful for soothing nerves and a wide array of health issues.

2. Something is Killing the Children by James Tynion 4/5
A book under 280 pages

Write five things you love about yourself
1. I love deeply and fiercely.
2. I’m honest to a fault.
3. I love to learn new things.
4. I’m open minded.
5. I’m comfortable with being different.

3. The Heights by Louise Candlish 4/5 (Release date: March 1st, 2022)
Red or pink on the cover

Get cozy and read for 30 minutes
I actually sat and binged the entire last half of this book which, with all the interruptions, took almost two hours.. But I did snuggle up and meet this ‘Self-care’ prompt.

4. Friends Like These by Kimberly McCreight 3.5/5
Title begins with F

Watch a movie or t.v. show
I started The Vampire Diaries a few weeks ago, moved on to The Originals, and for the first time (because we’re super late to the bandwagon) we’ve now started watching Legacies.
I’m still trying to determine how I feel about the show so far..

5. The Midnight Library by Matt Haig 4.5/5
Read the Buddy Read book
(I did read it.. I did not, however, read it with a buddy.)

Reorganize a shelf (physical or online)
I’ve been working at getting the books on my tablet more organized.. but it’s more of a long term work in progress.

6. Love, Magic, and Misfortune by Karla Nikole 4/5
A Romance Novel

Take a self care day
I needed a night off so I took one and that used that time to read, rest, and recover.

7. The Girl I Used to Be by April Henry

Do something creative
I’ve been dipping my toes into writing poetry again..
I’m still too shy to post any but it’s been a nice way to express all those pent up emotions.

Annd that’s about as far as I got..
I wasn’t too clear on when I should post this but, thanks to a small mix up in my drafts (and the strange notion that February wouldn’t be over for several more days..) it no longer matters. So, yeah, here we are.. better late than never.

Thank you for stopping by and checking out my post..
I enjoyed this challenge and look forward to participating in it again next year!
