I had to.. ‘The Covid 19’ Book tag

A fun new booktag about a subject we all know and love:
The Coronavirus.. yay!

As far as I can tell no one has made a Covid-19 booktag yet.. which, I have to say, really surprises me.
But here we are.

Raise your hand if your beyond tired of the pandemic problem..
*raises both*
So what do I do? I make a tag about it!
When I figure out how that makes sense, I’ll let you know, until then.. We have this.

The Rules:

Thank the person who introduced you to this tag.
Link back to the creator (that would be me) @ ReadBetwixtWords
Answer each question honestly
Tag a friend and pass this on!
(I would also greatly appreciate everyone keeping this friendly, thank you)

Enjoy!

Have you had Covid?

Surprisingly enough? No. Neither my husband or I have caught it yet. *knocks on wood*
We’ve been very blessed.

Have you lost friends or family because of it?

Also, no, thank goodness.
We’re a big family but a small bunch and any disagreements we’ve had have, so far, been overcome without too much bloodshed.
I know far too many who haven’t been as lucky.

A book you’ve read that has or is about a pandemic/virus/plague:

The Girl in Red by Christina Henry
The Wilds by Donna Augustine

The Girl With All the Gifts by M. R. Carey

A book you want to read that’s has or is about a pandemic/virus/plague:

The Apocalypse Seven by Gene Doucette
Year One by Nora Roberts
The Companions by Katie M. Flynn

A book title that sums up your Covid experience:

Shit Happens So Get Over It by Summersdale

This was too good to pass up.

Good advice for tough times

“To succeed in life, you need three things: a wishbone, a backbone and a funny bone.”  —Reba McEntire”You can’t be brave if you’ve only had wonderful things happen to you.”  —Mary Tyler Moore”Sometimes you just have to pee in the sink.”  —Charles Bukowski”Don’t go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first.”  —Mark Twain”Anyone who trades liberty for security deserves neither.”  —Benjamin Franklin”When your dreams turn to dust, vacuum.”  —Desmond Tutu

Ever had one of those days when nothing seems to go your way? Poor little you. Now deal with it! Life is too short to spend moping around when instead you could be taking things with a pinch of salt—and a shot of tequila. Here’s a book packed with straight-talking quotations to help you get a grip and find the brighter side.

What have you missed the most since Covid began:

Honestly?
I miss not having to hear about Covid.

A character who is sick or was infected by something terrible:

The Return by Rachel Harrison
Touch of Power by Maria V. Snyder
The Noise by James Patterson and J.D. Barker

A book written before 2020 that seems far too relatable to current events:

The Andromeda Strain by Michael Crichton

I need to reread this.. it’s been too long.

Five prominent biophysicists have warned the United States government that sterilization procedures for returning space probes may be inadequate to guarantee uncontaminated re-entry to the atmosphere. Two years later, a probe satellite falls to the earth and lands in a desolate region of northeastern Arizona. Nearby, in the town of Piedmont, bodies lie heaped and flung across the ground, faces locked in frozen surprise. What could cause such shock and fear? The terror has begun, and there is no telling where it will end.

What is something that got you through quarantine?

Reading.
Starting and maintaining this blog.
Critter cuddles.
Fudge rounds. (Hey, don’t judge)
Biting my tongue.. a lot.

A favorite dystopian/apocalypse read:

The Darkness We Crave by Katie May
The Queen of All That Dies by Laura Thalassa
Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

And that’s that.
Thank you for taking the time to read this post, I hope you enjoyed it!
(Well.. as much as you can enjoy anything to do with the virus these days.)

Stay safe, Be well, and Happy reading!

With Covid on the rise, yet again, How are you holding up?

This is such a great idea! While I’m also sick of hearing about COVID, I love that you made it into a creative tag.

Thank you, I’m glad you like it!
I think we’re all tired of hearing about the pandemic.. I guess I just wanted to push back some of the negativity.
Stay safe and have a great week, Leah!

  2. Jodi Picoult’s newest novel is very Covid themes. It is called Wish You Were Here. I reviewed it on my blog.

    1. Sheri Dye

I’ve seen that one floating around and I’m curious to see what Picoult did with it.. Have you had a chance to read it?
‘My Sister’s Keeper’ about tore my heart out.

        1. Sheri Dye

Found it! I’ll definitely have to grab it when I get a chance, it sounds like a great read!
And I do end up loving her books.. I just rarely go for the ‘I’m going to rip your heart out of of your chest in a good way’ kind of books. 😅🤭

  3. becareads

Such a good idea! I am a little surprised it is the first, especially being this far into the pandemic.

    1. Sheri Dye

Thank you! I was pretty shocked, myself..
But maybe there are and I just didn’t use the right search words. Who knows.

  4. Carla

Such fun. I also read Jodi Picoult’s book and I did like it. The Pull of the Stars by Emma Donoghue was about the flu epidemic in Ireland, also very good.

    1. Sheri Dye

I’ve kept my eyes peeled for Picoult’s latest but no luck so far.
Now The Pull of the Stars, I haven’t heard of that one.. I’ll have to check it out. Thanks, Carla!
