Some of my favorite books, blogs, authors, and quotes in 2022
Thank you for joining me today to celebrate my 200th post!
It may not seem all that exciting but, to me, it’s worth getting excited about.
We all put a lot of work into our blogs, a lot of time, on very little sleep..
We should celebrate the little things, the small moments, that bring us a smile.
So, thank you, for taking the time to check out this post.
Here are a few of the things that have made my year a great one so far..
Enjoy!

A favorite post of mine:
My “This is Your Story” Book tag
This was a fun tag to put together and I’m pretty happy with the way it turned out..
But the best part is seeing how unique and creative everyone’s stories are!
A favorite post from another blog:
Every month Gem compiles a list of random but interesting facts and shares it with us.
I love learning new and sometimes strange things about different countries, history, animals, holidays.. you name it! So I always look forward to seeing what she comes up.
Be sure to stop by and check out her page!
A favorite book of the year:
The House of Ashes by Stuart Neville
Sara Keane’s husband, Damien, has uprooted them from England and moved them to his native Northern Ireland for a “fresh start” in the wake of her nervous breakdown. Sara, who knows no one in Northern Ireland, is jobless, carless, friendless—all but a prisoner in her own house. When a blood-soaked old woman beats on the door, insisting the house is hers before being bundled back to her care facility, Sara begins to understand the house has a terrible history her husband never intended for her to discover. As the two women form a bond over their shared traumas, Sara finds the strength to stand up to her abuser, and Mary—silent for six decades—is finally ready to tell her story . . .
Through the counterpoint voices—one modern Englishwoman, one Northern Irish farmgirl speaking from half a century earlier—Stuart Neville offers a chilling and gorgeous portrait of violence and resilience in this truly haunting narrative.
A favorite new (to me) author:
I’ve only just recently had the chance to read ‘The Return‘ (another new favorite of mine) by Harrison and, wow, it was something else.
It’s been a while since I’ve read something that literally made my hair stand on end.
Not a book I would suggest reading at night.
A favorite quote:
“If it was ignorance that made her a victim, it would be knowledge that would help her recover.”
– You’ll Thank Me For This by Nina Siegel
“I know this: people change. And what starts out as a story you made up about yourself can eventually become the truth of who you are—if you want it bad enough.” – Friends Like These by Kimberly McCreight
“Everything will be okay in the end. If it’s not okay, it’s not the end.”
– The Maid by Nita Prose
A TBR favorite or two:
I chose these books because One: They sound like killer reads.
And Two: I haven’t seen any reviews for them (that I can recall, at least) and I think a few of you would find them deeply fascinating.
The Destruction of Sevyn by Ember Michaels
The Passage by Justin Cronin
The Girl with the Green Eyes by J.M Briscoe
That’s a wrap!
Thanks so much for joining me and I hope you found some of these as interesting as I did!
