July 2023: What Books Made Your Month?

“Fill your house with stacks of books, in all the crannies and all the nooks.” – Dr. Seuss

Welcome!

Is anyone else trying to figure out where the heck July went?
It can’t be just me..
Anyway!
Let’s get to the books before August is here and gone.

Now, I have been in a bit of a reading slump as of late but don’t worry, I do still have several wonderful books, a graphic novel or two, as well as a couple of manga for you to check out this month.

Enjoy!

Follow the Red by Mary Martinez
Disobey the Duke If You Dare Vol. 1 by Romance Machine K
Vicious by V. E. Schwab
Dr. Stone Vol. 1 by Riichiro Inagaki

What I’m Currently Reading:

When the Wicked Play by Tristina Brockway

Publication date: June 20, 2023

CHARLIE

I was raised in chains and left for dead.

That’s enough darkness to fuel anyone’s rage.

The need for vengeance courses through my veins and the little bit of sanity I had left vanished in the shallow grave I dug myself out of.

Only a man with the blackest of souls and blood on his hands will be able to handle the kind of crazy I hide in my hollow heart.

Lucky for me he has both, and the next grave I’m standing over won’t be my own.

JAX

I’m not a good man, or even a decent one.

So when Charlie comes crashing into my life with a thirst for blood that rivals my own, I send her on her way.

I have my own problems to take care of.

So why do I find myself tracking the little terror down to give her exactly what she wants?

I’ll be her loaded gun.

All she has to do is point me in the right direction and pull the trigger, but this girl is a Queen of Destruction all on her own.

What I’d Like to Read Next:

Doomsday Match by Jeff Wheeler
The Promised Neverland by Kaiu Shirai (Author) and Posuka Demizu (Illustrator)

A House With Good Bones by T. Kingfisher

Books I’ve Won/Picked Up:

Catherine House by Elisabeth Thomas
Fortune Falls by Jenny Goebel
The Last Panther by Todd Mitchell
The Collector by K. R. Alexander
The Fear Zone by K. R. Alexander

ARC: Edenville by Sam Rebelein

Publication date: October 3, 2023

After publishing his debut novel, The Shattered Man, to disappointing sales and reviews, Campbell P. Marion is struggling to find inspiration for a follow-up. When Edenville College invites him to join as a writer-in-residence, he’s convinced that his bad luck has finally taken a turn. His girlfriend Quinn isn’t so sure—she grew up near Edenville and has good reasons for not wanting to move back. Cam disregards her skepticism and accepts the job, with Quinn reluctantly following along.

But there’s something wrong in Edenville. Despite the charming old ladies milling about Main Street and picturesque sunflowers dotting the sidewalks, poison lurks beneath the surface. As a series of strange and ominous events escalate among Edenville and its residents, Cam and Quinn find themselves entangled in a dark and disturbing history.

And that’s a wrap!
Thank you for taking a moment to check out my post, I hope a few of these caught your interest.

I nominate House With Good Bones to push all the way up your priority list 😀 And nice, you got a copy of Edenville. I’m so curious about that one.
