Endings That Will Have You Pulling Your Hair Out

Part 1

Welcome!

Today’s post will feature books that either end abruptly or on a cliffhanger—the kind of endings that will drive you crazy.
Many of them would also make wonderful reading this time of year.
Well, if you like dark and spooky, that is.

Some endings can be justified, like the first book in a series, but others just make you want to scream.
Below are twelve books that did just that.
Maybe you’ve read a few.. or maybe you’re brave enough to try.

Enjoy!

If there is going to be a cliff-hanger, I do like to know that I can buy the next book straight away.

  2. Tessa Pulyer

Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross stopped at a cliff hanger that has driven me crazy since I read it.

  3. D. Wallace Peach

I don’t know if I’ve read many non-series cliff-hangers. I think it would make me crazy too. Lol.

  4. Leah's Books

I don’t mind a cliffhanger if there’s another book coming. My personal pet peeve is when a standalone leaves me with an open ending. Like the end of The Handmaid’s Tale. If I’ve spent all that time reading a book, it better at least have an actual ending!

  5. Carla

I can’t think of any off the top of my head, but I am not a big fan of cliff hangers, so any that end that way and make me wait forever for the next book, would be my suggestion.
