A book with a creepy cover:

Boys, Beasts & Men by Sam J. Miller

A book that had you looking over your shoulder:

The Hollow Places by T. Kingfisher

A book you would recommend reading around Halloween:

These Fleeting Shadows by Kate Alice Marshall
The Stroke of Winter by Wendy Webb
Ascension by Nicholas Binge

What is one of your biggest fears?

Sometimes I Lie by Alice Feeney

Being trapped in your body, with nothing but your own mind, unable to move or communicate..
That sounds like one special kind of hell to me.

What’s your favorite kind of supernatural?
(Vampire, Werewolf, Ghost, Witch, and so on..)

New Dragon City by Mari Mancusi

A character on the cover that would make a great Halloween costume:

Guweiz: The Art of Gu Zheng Wei by Gu Zheng Wei

A TBR you think will be spooky:

Revelator by Daryl Gregory
Voices in the Snow by Darcy Coates

Dead Silence by S.A. Barnes

A book title with the word Halloween in it:

The Witch of Halloween House by Jeff DeGordick

A creature you wouldn’t want to meet in the dark:

Lirael by Garth Nix
I first read this series as a young teen and have reread it probably a dozen times now and there’s always one part that sends shivers down my spine every.single.time. Deep in the library where Lirael has been put to work are rooms that contain ancient and sometimes terrifying forms of free magic. While exploring, Lirael accidentally unleashes one of the only literary creatures that has given me nightmares before, the Stilken.
If you like dark and captivating fantasy books, this is a must read.

What’s your favorite part of Halloween?

I love all of it, really.
The fascinating history of it, the excited kids, the creative costumes, the sweets and scary movie marathons.
It used to be the only time when, for just a little while, you could be anything or anyone you wanted..
I wonder how magical all of it will seem now that everyone appears to be doing that every day.
