Let’s get a head start on the spooky season with these lovely Messengers of the Dead.
Welcome!
I’m kicking the spooky season off a bit early with a wonderful selection of book covers showcasing a variety of, you guessed it, black birds.
These entertaining creatures—ravens, blackbirds, crows, etc—have been tied to death and the dead throughout history so I feel it’s only fitting that today’s Book Covers to Love features these fascinating little fellows.
Don’t think these little birds are all beauty and no brains though, there are some great stories here.
So—sit back, scroll on down, and discover your next favorite read.
Enjoy!

I like the Raven Boys! It reminds me of The Lost Boys. I hope there are vampires in it!
Tainted Frost and The Raven Boys grabbed my attention.
I’ve always loved the original Angry Robot cover for Blackbirds by Chuck Wendig. The art style with her hair become birds is really striking. I didn’t care for the newer Saga Press cover, it was quite generic in comparison.
