Baby It’s Cold Outside Book Tag

What books do you turn to when the cold comes knocking?

This is my first booktag! I have no idea if I’ve done it right but..

I enjoyed doing it.

I found this on Abby @ Beyond the Read‘s blog and thought it was so adorable I just had to try it.

⛄ Snow Day – What’s your “comfort” book?

“Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast..”

Alice in Wonderland is always something I reach for when I want a break from reality with some fun and crazy friends in a nostalgic world away from all my troubles.

👼🏻 Snow Angels – What’s a book that you love so much you would want to be buried with it (a little morbid, but…)?

“A heart’s a heavy burden.”

Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones is an amazing tale of love, magic, and growth. It won’t take long for this world to come alive in this artfully crafted adventure, where magic is a promise, and the characters are guaranteed to capture your heart.

🧦 Warm Socks – What’s a book that makes you feel warm inside? (The fluffiest, cutest romance you’ve ever read..)

“When you feel discontented, think over your blessings, and be grateful.”

Little Women by Louise May Alcott may not be a romance of the usual kind but.. it will surely have you falling in love. With her uniquely lovable characters, Alcott has created a world that expresses the chaotic beauty of family and life. If you’re one for fanciful ideals and romantic notions.. this incredible classic is for you. Reading Little Women is a bit like ‘coming home’.

☕ Hot Cocoa – What winter-themed novels have you previously read?

“Choosers will be beggars it the begging’s not their choosing,” said the Dog.”

Lirael by Garth Nix is the second book in his ‘Old Kingdom‘ series. The author outdoes himself as Lirael and her unusual companions race to stop an ancient evil from rising and learn more about who she is. Talking animals, dark magical creatures, secret pathways.. What’s not to love?

🏂 Sledding – What’s a book with the best plot twists? Who’s an author that always keeps you on your toes?

“There is nothing more dangerous, nothing more powerful, nothing more necessary and essential for survival than the lies wee tell ourselves.”

All the Missing Girls by Megan Miranda made me go ‘Hmm’ with this one. It’s confusing and twisted and just the right amount of intrigue to keep the pages turning. I found my curiosity peaking around the corners searching for answers. I feel that Megan Miranda writes consistently good plots that have you questioning what’s really going on.

🧥 Ugly Sweaters – What’s a book with the ugliest cover?

Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris is an entertaining series but even if this were a favorite.. the covers would still be unattractive to me. But I am grateful for the books, otherwise, I’d have to listen to a southern vampire say “Sookeh” in a decidedly not attractive(and kind of creepy) way.

🎥 Movie Marathon – What’s the last book you binge read

“Mass slaughter was rarely a good idea and bound to attract attention.”

Shadow Hunter by B.R. Kingsolver wrote a storyline that grabs your attention from the get go, earning my approval for bingeable reading. When the main character is a bartender/assassin in hiding from the shadowy organization that raised her.. It can suck you into the action.

🎅🏻 Letter to Santa – What’s a book that’s on your wishlist this year

“Crooked smiles for crooked hearts.”

Incendiary by Zoraida Cordova. Kidnapped by an evil king who abuses her powers? Rebel spies? Secrets that determine the fate of the kingdom? Sign me up. And if all that doesn’t catch your attention, look at that book cover!
