A book you want for your birthday:
Theodore: The Neighbor’s Cat by J.S. Ellis
My roommate is a serial killer. And I have been powerless to stop him because I… am a cat.
Don’t get me wrong, Dean has never been cruel to me. He provides me with shelter, toys, and plenty of affection. But I have seen his dark side, his brutal treatment of women, and I can’t bear to watch anyone else get hurt.
Jane from next door is attractive for a human, not to mention being incredibly kind. That kindness may get her killed. I’ve seen how Dean looks at her, I know what he’s plotting. In his mind, she’s his for the taking. I wasn’t able to save the others, but I’m not ready to give up. One way or another, I have to figure out how to communicate to Jane that she’s in danger.
Can I find a way to warn her in time? Or will she become just another name on his growing list of victims? Can I stop him before the body count rises?
A book you’ve received as a gift:
The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman
Bod is an unusual boy who inhabits an unusual place—he’s the only living resident of a graveyard. Raised from infancy by the ghosts, werewolves, and other cemetery denizens, Bod has learned the antiquated customs of his guardians’ time as well as their ghostly teachings—such as the ability to Fade so mere mortals cannot see him.
Can a boy raised by ghosts face the wonders and terrors of the worlds of both the living and the dead?
A book with the word ‘Birthday’ in the title:
The Birthday Girl by Melissa De La Cruz
Before she became a glamorous fashion designer, Ellie de Florent-Stinson was a trailer-park teen about to turn sixteen. But a night of birthday celebration doesn’t go exactly as planned and descends into a night she’ll never be able to forget.
Now, on the cusp of her fortieth birthday, it appears Ellie has everything she ever wanted: a handsome husband; an accomplished, college-age stepdaughter; a beautiful ten-year-old girl; adorable and rambunctious six-year-old twin boys; lush, well-appointed homes in Los Angeles, Park City, and Palm Springs; a thriving career; and a dazzling circle of friends.
Except everything is not quite as perfect as it looks on the outside—Ellie is keeping many secrets. But hiding those skeletons has a cost, and it all comes to a head the night of her fabulous birthday party in the desert—where everyone who matters in her life shows up, invited or not. Old and new friends and frenemies, stepdaughters and business partners, ex-wives and ex-husbands congregate, and the glittering facade of Ellie’s life begins to crumble.
A book character who is the same age as you:
The False Hero by Michael Plymel
Disillusioned businessman, John Lawrence Locke, finds himself summoned as a hero to another world, filled with monsters and magic! With his body reverted to the age of fifteen, the thirty-three-year-old’s mind is filled with the possibility of battles and adventures, like the ones in his favorite video games.
Unfortunately for him, life isn’t always so convenient. Betrayed by the very people who summoned him, he’s condemned as the False Hero and forced to flee for his life. Alone in an unfamiliar world and hunted by all of humanity, he takes on the alias of Lutz and uses his gaming knowledge to quickly adapt to the world’s strangely game-like mechanics.
A book with the month of your birthday in the title:
The 22 Murders of Madison May by Max Barry
“I love you. In every world.”
Young real estate agent Madison May is shocked when a client at an open house says these words to her. The man, a stranger, seems to know far too much about her, and professes his love–shortly before he murders her.
Felicity Staples hates reporting on murders. As a journalist for a midsize New York City paper, she knows she must take on the assignment to research Madison May’s shocking murder, but the crime seems random and the suspect is in the wind. That is, until Felicity spots the killer on the subway, right before he vanishes.
Soon, Felicity senses her entire universe has shifted. No one remembers Madison May, or Felicity’s encounter with the mysterious man. And her cat is missing. Felicity realizes that in her pursuit of Madison’s killer, she followed him into a different dimension–one where everything about her existence is slightly altered. At first, she is determined to return to the reality she knows, but when Madison May–in this world, a struggling actress–is murdered again, Felicity decides she must find the killer–and learns that she is not the only one hunting him.
Traveling through different realities, Felicity uncovers the opportunity–and danger–of living more than one life.
A popular book you wouldn’t want for your birthday:
I Kissed Shara Wheeler by Casey McQuiston
Chloe Green is so close to winning. After her moms moved her from SoCal to Alabama for high school, she’s spent the past four years dodging gossipy classmates and the puritanical administration of Willowgrove Christian Academy. The thing that’s kept her going: winning valedictorian. Her only rival: prom queen Shara Wheeler, the principal’s perfect progeny.
But a month before graduation, Shara kisses Chloe and vanishes.
On a furious hunt for answers, Chloe discovers she’s not the only one Shara kissed. There’s also Smith, Shara’s longtime quarterback sweetheart, and Rory, Shara’s bad boy neighbor with a crush. The three have nothing in common except Shara and the annoyingly cryptic notes she left behind, but together they must untangle Shara’s trail of clues and find her. It’ll be worth it, if Chloe can drag Shara back before graduation to beat her fair and square.
Thrown into an unlikely alliance, chasing a ghost through parties, break-ins, puzzles, and secrets revealed on monogrammed stationery, Chloe starts to suspect there might be more to this small town than she thought. And maybe—probably not, but maybe—more to Shara, too.
A book with a cake on the cover:
Deadly Sweet by Lola Dodge
Anise Wise loves three things: baking, potion making, and reading her spellbooks in blissful silence. She might not be the most powerful witch, but enchantment is a rare skill, and her ability to bake with magic is even rarer. Too bad no one wants witchcraft on their campus. Anise’s dream of attending pastry school crumbles with rejection letter after rejection letter.
Desperate to escape her dead-end future, Anise contacts the long-lost relative she’s not supposed to know about. Great Aunt Agatha owns the only magic bakery in the US, and she suddenly needs a new apprentice. Anise is so excited she books it to New Mexico without thinking to ask what happened to the last girl.
The Spellwork Syndicate rules the local witches in Taos, but as “accidents” turn into full-out attacks on Anise’s life, their promises to keep her safe are less and less reassuring. Her cranky bodyguard is doing his best, but it’s hard to fight back when she has no idea who’s the enemy. Or why she became their target.
If Anise can’t find and stop whoever wants her dead, she’ll be more toasted than a crème brûlée.
A book published in the same year you were born:
Midnight by Dean Koontz
Dean Koontz, the bestselling master of suspense, invites you into the shocking world of Moonlight Cove—where four unlikely survivors confront the darkest realms of human nature.
The citizens of Moonlight Cove, California, are changing. Some are losing touch with their deepest emotions. Others are surrendering to their wildest urges. And the few who remain unchanged are absolutely terrified—if not brutally murdered in the dead of night…
An author who shares the same birthday as you:
“I’m certain there’s a link between reading good books and becoming a writer. I don’t know a single writer who wasn’t a reader first.”
Born in Camden, New Jersey in 1949, Andrew Clements has gifted the literary world with dozens of fun and entertaining children’s books – His most recent being ‘The Friendship War.’
More than eighty of those books have been published since 1985, with his debut novel, ‘Frindle,’ having sold over 6.5 million copies.. and that’s just the one.
Sadly, Clements passed away in November 2019, leaving behind an incredible legacy that’s sure to continue touching the hearts of children (and adults) everywhere.
Share something you’re looking forward to this birthday:
Cake.
I always look forward to cake.
There’s this ‘death by chocolate’ cake my husband gets me every year and, yes, it’s as good as it sounds..
It’s a chocolate cake with layers of chocolate mousse throughout and covered in a generous layer of chocolate fudge.. that’s then decorated with more chocolate.
So, basically, he’s either the best husband in the world.. or he’s trying to kill me.
Whatever the reason..
Worth it.
(This one looks a little rough because the extremely hot temperatures that day were not kind.. but it still tasted phenomenal!)

Aw.. thank you! 💖
It’s still a few days until the actual date but hopefully it does go well. I just wasn’t sure if I’d have time to post beforehand.
I hope you have a great day!
Thank you!
I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed, a rabbit foot in my pocket, and I think I’ll start looking for four leaf clovers now.😅
Happy birthday to you! Hope you had a great and blessed one and I wish you more prosperity and joy in your days to come. Sending you lots of hugs and love (Non creepy one’s for sure) 🤗❤️
Thanks for the tag by the way, I absolutely am gonna love this will have it posted in few days. 🙂❣️
Thank you! Goodness.. You’re all so sweet.💗
We’ll be spending some time with family this weekend to sort of ‘celebrate,’ although, it is kind of getting mixed into one big Memorial day thing at this point so.. it will either be fun or complete chaos.
I’m glad you enjoyed the tag and I see that you did it, as well, so touched I have to go check that out right now!
You’re most welcome! That sounds like a nice celebration, either way you’re with the one’s you love so that would be a great memory to remember by. 🙂❤️
I had so much fun writing on it, thank you. 😌
Funny how the ones you love are also the same people who drive you insane.. but the time spent together and the memories are always worth it.
And I can’t tell you how happy it makes me that you enjoyed it.💗
Haha… I couldn’t agree more, you know what they say “Can’t live with them, can’t live without them” 😄
Have a wonderful celebration, happy weekend my friend! ❤️😊
Agreed. Except you have lived with them.. so you know what you’re up against. 😂
And thank you!
I think it will be a lovely day. The weather is supposed to be near perfect, good food to be had, and lots of love to go around.
You have a beautiful weekend as well!🌷🌞
Haha… That is what’s making it bearable 🤣
You’re most welcome!
It sounds like a perfect plan, have a lovely one. 🤗💌
As long as ‘bearable’ means ‘you’re one tiny ‘try me’ away from a good, swift kick in the behind.’ 😂
It was a fantastic weekend here, how was yours?
Haha… That is one way of putting it 🤣
Good to hear, mine was a very productive week as well.
Lol. Thank you. We readers, writers, and dreamers do have a way with words. 😋
Glad to hear it! This week has been a bit bumpier on my end.. freaking allergies have hit with a vengeance.
How about you? All good things!
Agreed we do have way with words haha… You’re welcome! 😄
Oh that is terrible, darn allergies they are horrible. So far not so bad.
I don’t know.. Everyone’s allergies seem way worse than usual this year.
Glad things are (were? Hopefully still are..) well with you! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
It seems so that way, perhaps the fluctuating weather is why.
It is not so shabby just have to take some extra precautions and medications haha… I actually don’t have the luxury of a weekend as I work at hospital but it wasn’t bad, how’s yours?
I would believe that. All these storms like to dredge up crap we haven’t seen in ages.
And yikes.. I’m sorry to hear that. I can’t imagine how difficult it must be for hospital workers right now (and for a while now)
Prayers for your health and safety, my friend.
My weekend was long but surprisingly pleasant, thank you.🌹
Exactly, it’s cold when it rains and the next day it will be sunny and the humidity is unbearable.
It is, I’ll atleast have 4 days off starting sat to fly down to visit my sis. Thank you so much my friend, I pray for the same.
I’m glad to know it was a pleasant one for you. ❤️
It’s usually ridiculously hot here until it rains.. then it will cool off for a day or two (just long enough to lull us into a false sense of security)
Thank you, hun!
I hope you enjoy your time with your sister, many prayers for a safe trip!
It is the same here, darn this weather.
You’re welcome!
I did enjoy my time, back home now. Thank you so much dear! 🥰
Mother Nature is a beautiful thing.. but I’m starting to wonder if she’s trying to get rid of us. 😅
Haha… That is a question worth pondering upon 😂
Is it? We might not like the answer..🤭
