Happy Fourth of July, my friends!

Okay.. ‘happy’ may be stretching it a little.

Just a quick shout out to wish you a wonderful holiday!
I hope you’re all able to enjoy it despite, and maybe in spite of, all we’re currently up against.

I know a lot of people are frustrated right now. At our governments/leaders. At the increasingly heartbreaking, nerve-racking, and soul sucking obstacles we’ve faced (and are still facing) over the last few years. It almost seems like we’re being kicked when we’re down, over and over again.
How many of you feel exhausted? Betrayed. Confused. Angry.. Frightened for yourself and your family’s future?
What is there to celebrate, really?

You celebrate all the little, bright moments that make life worth it.
Family. Laughter. Determination.
Hope in the face of tragedy.
Love in a time of war.
Faith in a world gone mad.

Yes, I know, it’s much easier said than done.
That’s why it’s so important to take whatever opportunities we’re given to stop, look around, and raise our glasses to all the things we still have to be grateful for while we can. If these troubled times have taught us anything, it’s that nothing is certain, and everything can change *snaps fingers* just like that.

So light some fireworks, break out the grill, and for just a little while.. live in those moments.

Stay safe. Be well. And hang in there.

One thing you can be certain of in life is that things will not stay this way forever.

How will you be spending your Fourth of July?

Thank you, Daphny, it was a good day! Did you enjoy yours?

      1. Daphny Aqua

It was a tiresome day at work me. 🥴 Glad to know yours was a good one. 💞

Thank you! I’m sorry to hear you didn’t.. Hopefully you’ll be able to have a more relaxing time this next weekend.

          1. Daphny Aqua

You’re welcome! I don’t think I’ll have time to relax anytime soon 😅

          2. Sheri Dye

Oh no.. you must! You don’t want to run yourself into the ground! ❤️

          3. Daphny Aqua

Trying my best but juggling between my profession and writing with my book on the way takes all my time away. 🥴

          4. Sheri Dye

You really do have a lot on your plate.. all the more reason to take care with your health. But I’ll stop. I’m just a natural worrier. ❤️

          5. Daphny Aqua

Yeah a bit too much right now, hopefully 2 weeks from now I can slow down a bit. 😊

          6. Sheri Dye

Fingers crossed, hun, I hope it works out that way! 🥰

Hope you had a good one despite everything going on!

    1. Sheri Dye

I did, thank you! And you?

I don’t do 4th of July since I’m not American but it was a nice weekend- I got some vegan cake!

        1. Sheri Dye

I’m half convinced that we only celebrate 4th of July anymore for the chance to hang out and blow crap up.
Vegan cake sounds interesting! Possibly insensitive question but.. what makes a cake vegan?

          1. Pooja G

Lol that does sound fun haha.

It was delicious! It’s vegan because it doesn’t have dairy like milk and eggs. They use plant based stuff like vegan milk and egg replacements.

          2. Sheri Dye

            Okay, that’s pretty cool.
I’m not really sure what an egg replacement is but I’ll look it up.. I’m curious enough to try it.
I think I’ll check out a few vegan cake recipes, too.
            Thanks, Pooja!. 😊❤️

          3. Pooja G

You can get vegan egg replacements at like Walmart and stuff but I love making my own cos it’s so insanely easy. You just need to mix some flaxseed and water. Check it out on YouTube it’s super easy!
            You’re totally welcome! ☺️

          4. Sheri Dye

Well, then.. that sounds interesting. I will check it out, thanks!

          5. Pooja G

Let me know what you think if you do end up trying a vegan cake!

          6. Sheri Dye

            I will do that!
