Beat the Backlist Challenge 2022

Out of the 56 books I picked up this year.. 31 were from my TBR

I loved participating in this challenge.
It was a great motivator for reading more than just the latest releases and did cross off a good handful of my TBR books.. sort of.
You know how it is—for every one you finish, twenty replace it.

But looking at all of the TBR books I’ve managed to read this year, I’m surprisingly pleased. I really didn’t expect to get in as much reading as I did or fall in love with nearly as many as I did so, despite not getting to everything I would have liked, I’m thrilled with the end result.

The Rules:

  1. The book must be published in the previous year or earlier (for the 2022 challenge, anything published in 2021 or earlier counts)
  2. You have to start and finish the book in 2022.
  3. And that’s it!

Enjoy!

You seem to really like Lisa Unger. Do have a favorite(s)?

    1. Sheri Dye

Honestly, those were the first books I’ve read by her so they’re the only ones I can really recommend at the moment.. but I do look forward reading more by her.
Have you read any of her books?

  3. Mogsy @ BiblioSanctum

You did such a great job! Puts me to shame, I didn’t even read a single backlist book on my tbr this year cry

      Thank you!
I hope you don’t take this the wrong way but it blows my mind that you didn’t get to any of your backlist books—You read so much.. how is that possible?

  4. Yolanda @ Past Midnight

Great job! I don’t think I took a look at what books I read in 2022 that were on the backlist but now I’m curious and may have to do a post! I’ll definitely do this for 2023.

Thank you! And I think you’ll be surprised by how many you find.
Let me know if you do that post, I’d love to see it!
